Programs - Grades 1-12

Our Highly Capable Programs provide support and increased challenges for students recognized as needing services beyond the normal learning environment to be successful. Students in our programs are identified as exhibiting significantly advanced cognitive ability, advanced levels of academic achievement, and/or unusual creative behavior. A learning environment with a quicker pace, complexity, and level of instruction helps them reach their fullest potential.

Challenge Program (Grades 1-6)

Elementary Physics

At the elementary level, identified students are served through a full-time, self-contained program housed at Terrace Park School.  The Challenge classrooms differentiate the strong, standards-based, regular Edmonds curriculum by providing an environment which allows students to identify and solve complex problems, explore concepts in greater depth and complexity, and to develop and create unique products. Using the National Association for Gifted Children Standards, the curriculum, instruction, and pacing is considerably more advanced and at a higher level than a regular classroom.
